Most people find packing to be very draining, such a struggle and a totally unpleasant experience. But we find that doing it strategically and with intent can really make a difference. Here are five tips to help you pack light, streamline everything you need for your trip at the tip of your fingers as well as avoid paying for unnecessary fees you didn’t bargain for.

  1. Pack travel sized toiletries.

Especially for when you are going on a short vacation travelling with travel sized products are the BEST. They weigh less and save you some extra space.

  1. Pre- plan your outfits beforehand.

Another essential travel tip we find might be useful is to pre-plan your outfits beforehand. Pick out all your outfits (down to your accessories) for the entire duration of your vacation and take a mental picture. This saves time, stress and the disappointment of over packing clothes you really do not need.

  1. Always travel with lightweight luggage

    Luggage

Sourcing for the ideal piece of luggage to easily hold all your belongings (without adding more weight to your load) can be a hassle, especially when it comes to travelling overseas. But we found that travelling with a lightweight luggage comes in really handy and takes some of the stress away. 1. Always check with your airline’s baggage weight requirement.

This is an essential tip to abide by if you are looking to travel light and avoid a heavy fine for an oversize luggage. We highly recommend you check your airline’s luggage weight requirements before packing and heading to the airport.

  1. Pack the necessities

Travel essentials.

Save yourself the extra kilograms and pack the essentials. Learn to leave the unnecessary stuff at home. For example you really do not need to pack every bathroom products you own or a hair dryer (most hotels already have some of these items) or heels for every occasion (for the ladies) or shoes for every occasion (for the gentlemen). Minimize your load, pack what you ONLY need.

So, don’t be that person who over packs for their trip. With these few essential tips you are ready to pack light and enjoy your next holiday!
